Amanda Sartain
2006-2007 SCHSRA Queen

Hi, my name is Amanda Brooke Sartain. I am the 2006-2007 South Carolina High School Rodeo Queen. I am the 17 year old daughter of Gene and Barbara Sartain where we and my two younger sisters live in the not so big town of Hodges SC. I am a senior at Greenwood High School, GO EAGLES, where I am a member of the Beta Club, Homecoming Court and Committee, and participate in our school pageant every year. I participate in a school to work program, where I work as an intern at Capsugel Plant in the mornings. After school I work at our local YMCA as a gymnastics coach. After high school I plan to attend Lander University and major in education.

My favorite hobby for as long as I can remember has always been riding horses. I followed in my mothers footsteps of not only being a member of SCHSRA, but becoming the Queen. This is my fourth year of being a member of SCHSRA, and I have loved every minute of it. My rodeo events are barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, and break-a-way roping. In 2004, I won the title of SC State Barrel Racing Champion, and competed in the National Finals rodeo in Wyoming. In 2005, I won the title of SC State Pole Bending Champion. This year I won the title of Queen and competed in the National Finals rodeo in Springfield, Illinois. It was such an honor to be able to represent South Carolina to the best of my ability. I had such a blast, but I couldn't have done it without my parents help, and everyone's support. So a BIG THANKS to Mom, Dad, Mr. Monte, Mrs. Ann, Mrs. Lori, all the board members, and a big thanks to my pit crew, Courtney, Ellison, and Cory. I love you guys!

This year has been great so far, and I know it will continue. I hope everyone has a great 2006-2007 year, I know it will be the best! If anyone ever needs anything, please ask, Ill do my best for you. Rodeo Hard!

Love always

Amanda Sartain
